Laurel grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland. She attended Bridgewater College in Virginia to complete her B.S. in Biology with a wildlife concentration and fell in love with Appalachia. Over the last couple of years, she has worked as a seasonal technician for the National Park Service as well as graduate students and state entities. She joined the Gigliotti Lab in June 2023 and is ecstatic to return to an area of the country that she loves! Laurel is researching river otter survival and spatial ecology here in West Virginia.
