Laurel and I were happy to host an otter-themed activity at the Kid's Tent at the Cheat River Festival (the annual fundraiser of Friends of the Cheat) this past weekend. For more info on FOC's watershed conservation work, check out Friends of the Cheat's website.
The first activity was focused on identifying mammals (including otters) that are native to West Virginia.
How many of the pelts can you identify below?
Answers are on the bottom of the post. The pelts belong to WVU and are used for education and outreach opportunities.
How many of the skulls can you identify below?

The second activity was making casts of otter pawprints in clay for kids to take home.
We had a great time supporting Friends of the Cheat and their watershed conservation work. We hope to see you there next year!
